BUCIDE Initiative is led by a multidisciplinary team with expertise in public health, education, monitoring and evaluation, research, community engagement and programme implementation.

Through strong partnerships with schools, communities, local government and development partners, the organization designs and implements evidence-based programmes that support vulnerable children and adolescents to learn, thrive and realize their full potential.

Founder & Executive Director

Gulanda Amuza

Bio

Gulanda Amuza is a public health and community development professional with experience in youth programming, school-based interventions, safeguarding and community engagement. He has worked with organizations including Amref Health Africa Uganda, Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), World Vision Uganda, Restless Development Uganda and Uganda Red Cross Society.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Makerere University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health at Islamic University in Uganda. He provides strategic leadership for BUCIDE Initiative and oversees programme development, partnerships and community engagement activities.

Founder & Programs Director

Nedejje Halima

Bio

Nedejje Halima is an education management and monitoring and evaluation professional with extensive experience in school leadership, research and community-based programming. She serves as Director and Head Teacher of Bugisu Junior School and has supported research and programme activities with institutions including Makerere University School of Public Health and Malaria Consortium.

She holds a Master of Education Management and Administration, a Bachelor of Arts with Education and postgraduate qualifications in Monitoring and Evaluation and Project Planning and Management. She leads programme design, implementation, monitoring and learning at BUCIDE Initiative.

Communications & Partnerships Officer

Mukobera Hamza

Bio

Mukobera Hamza is an experienced local government administrator currently serving as a Senior Assistant Secretary. He previously worked as a Community Development Officer with Mbale District Local Government, supporting community mobilization and social development initiatives.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration and a postgraduate qualification in Public Administration. At BUCIDE Initiative, he leads stakeholder engagement, strategic partnerships and community outreach efforts.
